Going public.Getting wet.
Decided to follow Jesus? Baptism is how you say it out loud. Full immersion, old life under, new life up — surrounded by people cheering you on. Two dates are in the diary. There's room for you in the water.
One minute. A whole lot of joy.
A gazebo, a load of towels, the sea and a crowd of people who drove a long way to watch their friends get baptised. This is what the day actually looks like.
Or listen: what does the Bible say about baptism?A line in the sand, in water
Baptism is the way people in the Bible marked the decision to follow Jesus — fully immersed in water, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It’s not what makes you a Christian; it’s the public way of saying you already are. An old life going under, a new one coming up.
Want the longer version first? Matt’s talk on what the Bible says about baptism covers it, and our guide to becoming a Christian answers the questions people usually ask first.
Two chances to get baptised.
We do baptisms in batches, so you’re never doing it on your own. Pick the one that works and tell us — we’ll sort the rest with you.

In their own words.
What people said on the beach, minutes before they went under.
“I lost my faith completely, and spent the next 20 years doing things I definitely shouldn't have done. Being baptised is the first part of my journey — I want to leave the past behind and go forward with God by my side.”
“He met me exactly where I was. He didn't expect me to be perfect or have anything figured out — he accepted me with all my fears and imperfections, my doubts and questions.”
“I want to be baptised to demonstrate — to God, and to my friends and family — that I intend to follow Jesus for the rest of my life.”
“For a long time I felt very lost. Today I'm being baptised because I want to publicly say yes to Jesus. I know I have a long way to go, but I know I'm safe in his hands.”
Three simple steps.
Put your name down
Fill in the form below and tell us which date you're thinking about. That's the whole first step.
Come to the baptism class
One Zoom call with everyone else taking the step — your questions answered, and no turning up on the day not knowing what it means.
Get in the water
Bring a towel, a change of clothes and everyone you want there. We'll handle the rest on the day.
The baptism class.
One Zoom call, everyone who’s getting baptised, and a proper conversation about what you’re actually doing.
It’s a chance to meet others on the same journey — people who, like you, have decided they want to take this step — and to actually understand what baptism is and why it matters, rather than just turning up on the day.
We go through the notes together, unpack the significance of it, and leave space for whatever questions you’ve got. No pressure, no polish — just a proper conversation, so that when you do go under the water, you know exactly what you’re saying and why.
